How long do you have to file a civil lawsuit to recover damages for child abuse?
While each case is unique and requires an independent review of the facts, generally in Pennsylvania, a person physically or psychologically abused as a minor has until the age of 20 bring a civil lawsuit for their injuries. If the child was sexually abused, they may have until the age of 55 to bring a civil case. There may be other limitations and restrictions associated with your or your child’s claims.
